Product Description

Hitesh Steel is a leading supplier and exporter of Nitronic 50 stainless steel with stock in a variety of shapes including round bars, square bars, hex bars and mill flats. Nitronic 50 is an XM-19 stainless steel grade that offers superior strength and corrosion resistance compared to the other common austenitic stainless steel variations. At room temperature, grade XM-19 displays double the yield strength of grades 316/316L and 317/317L along with higher levels of oxidation resistance, especially in marine applications.

Nitronic 50 Stainless Steel provides a combination of corrosion resistance and strength not found in any other commercial material available inits price range. This austenitic stainless steel has corrosion resistance greater than that provided by Types 316, 316L, 317 and 317L, plus approximately twice the yield strength at room temperatures. In addition, Nitronic 50 stainless steel has very good mechanical properties at both elevated andsub-zero temperatures. Unlike many austenitic stainless steels, Nitronic 50 does not become magnetic when cold worked or cooled to sub-zero temperatures.High Strength (HS) Nitronic 50 stainless steel has a yield strength about three to four times that of Type 316 stainless steel.

Applications Potential

Outstanding corrosion resistance gives Nitronic 50 Stainless Steel the leading edge for applications where Types 316, 316L, 317 and 317L are only marginal. Its an effective alloy for the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, fertilizer, nuclear fuel recycling, pulp and paper, textile, food processing and marine industries.

Components using combination of excellent corrosion resistance and high strength currently include pumps, valves and fittings, fasteners, cables, chains, screens and marine hardware, boat and pump shafting, heat exchanger parts, springs and equipment.

Versatile Performance Across Industries

Nitronic 50 Round Bars find widespread use in environments where high strength and resistance to corrosion are imperative. These bars are engineered for the marine sector, chemical plants, pulp and paper mills, petrochemical facilities, and even nuclear installations. Their ability to resist harsh chemicals and saline conditions, alongside excellent heat resistance, makes them ideal for applications demanding reliability and longevity.

Custom-Made Solutions for Diverse Needs

Catering to diverse project requirements, Nitronic 50 Round Bars are manufactured in a wide range of sizes and thicknesses. Customers can specify the length, diameter, and finishbe it bright, polished, or blackto perfectly match their operational needs. Adherence to strict ASTM standards ensures consistent quality, while the customizable nature of these bars provides flexibility for both small- and large-scale projects.

FAQs of Nitronic 50 Round Bars:

Q: What are the primary benefits of using Nitronic 50 Round Bars over other stainless steels?

A: Nitronic 50 Round Bars offer superior corrosion resistancemuch better than 316/316L gradesand higher strength levels. This translates to longer service life, especially in harsh marine or chemical environments. Additionally, they maintain good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures up to 600C, making them a preferred choice for demanding applications.

Q: How can Nitronic 50 Round Bars be customized for specific projects?

A: You can order Nitronic 50 Round Bars in custom dimensions, including length, diameter (from 6 mm to 200 mm), and varying thicknesses. Multiple surface finishes (bright, polished, black) are available, and bars can be supplied according to the required standards to fit precise industrial needs.

Q: Where are Nitronic 50 Round Bars typically used in industry?

A: These round bars are widely employed in marine engineering, chemical processing, pulp and paper manufacturing, petrochemical sectors, and nuclear applications. Their exceptional durability and rust resistance make them suitable for use in highly corrosive or structural settings.

Q: What processes are used to manufacture Nitronic 50 Round Bars?

A: Nitronic 50 Round Bars are produced through specialized processes like hot rolling or forging, followed by precise machining to achieve the desired shape and size. They are then finished (polished, bright, or black) according to order specifications, and undergo rigorous quality checks to meet ASTM standards.

Q: When should Nitronic 50 Round Bars be chosen over conventional stainless steel bars?

A: They are the optimal choice when a project demands enhanced corrosion resistance, higher strength, and the ability to withstand elevated temperatures. Examples include subsea structures, chemical storage tanks, paper production machinery, and components exposed to aggressive or variable environments.

Q: How does the corrosion resistance of Nitronic 50 compare to 316/316L stainless steel?

A: Nitronic 50 offers considerably better resistance, especially in chloride-rich, saline, or chemical exposure scenarios. Its unique alloy composition provides gradual passivation, ensuring structural integrity and minimizing maintenance over time.
